Wei Zhao is an Associate in the Firm’s New York office. She focuses her practice on a wide range of regulatory compliance issues, including classification, country of origin marking, custom audits and penalty matters, Forced Labor, and other trade-related investigations and litigations. She also advises clients in cases involving export controls and sanctions, acquisitions, restructuring and financings, intellectual property and unfair competition claims.
As a law student, she completed her internship at the New York State Supreme Court, as well as Xicheng District People’s Court in Beijing.
Before joining GDLSK, Wei was an associate at Jincheng Tongda & Neal Law Firm, a leading international trade firm in Beijing. There, she regularly assisted Chinese companies and the Chinese government regarding a broad range of claims, including 337 investigations, antidumping, countervailing duty proceedings, WTO disputes, false designation of origin, product liability litigation and antitrust litigation. In 2018, she assisted several Chinese steel companies in a ground-breaking Section 337 Steel case (Inv. No. 337-TA-1002) before the U.S. International Trade Commission and achieved a historic litigation victory for the whole steel industry in China.
